CJizzle Fo'shizzle's Crib

AT&T is raising the bar on censorship, but the Legion plans on bringing it down.

They are Anonymous.

They are Legion.

They do not forgive.

They do not forget.

Expect them.

So as you’ve all *most* *likely* *heard*, apparently AT&T’s internet provider has decided to block off a certain image board site unexpectedly, without giving any reasons. (It has not affected any of the mobile phone devices, thankfully.) Apparently the rumor going around is that the reason is because of a certain section of that board launching constant DDoS attacks. Now I’m sure not many people would care at first. They probably might even congratulate at AT&T at first, until they realize what board they hit.

Now this particular board is supposedly where many an “Anonymous” sit around. You hear of Anonymous before? Fox News calls them supposedly a “cyber-terrorist group meant to spread a corrupted version of lols (lulz)”. They are also known for helping track down information on “Tim”, the abuser of a domestic cat that posted their abuse video on YouTube, along with various other criminals. They are even more known, in my own opinion, for the launching of Project Chanology – a worldwide protest against the Church of Scientology.

If you’ve seen the YouTube video, or, more importantly, have seen many of the efforts from them, you realize how persistent the group is. As stated above “They do not forgive. They do not forget.”

Already there is a plan against the Internet provider. What is that plan? Well, I don’t want to exactly call anyone out on it, but I’m sure that many of you that go to that image message board site will find it on another site frequented often by Anons – at least, so I’ve heard. And the plan is big.

AT&T has picked a bad enemy – I wonder if they realized this yet. Anonymous is an idea. Anonymous is all of us. Anonymous is everywhere. AT&T may even have some Anon working for them, no doubt. So to do this sort of thing and not expect any retaliation is ridiculous. Especially because apparently 15.5% of the Internet users out there happen to use AT&T DSL – a very big number, I’m sure, being angry Anonymous members.

Word of this is spreading fast (it’s on the front page for WordPress, and it’s even become a trending topic on Twitter), more and more Anon are learning about it and probably joining in, and I suspect in probably less than a day’s time we’ll be seeing some results of Anonymous giving AT&T a piece of their mind. Let’s see how this battle unfolds. Personally? I’m rooting for Anonymous, though I myself am an AT&T customer (phone-service wise, at least). This censorship is uncalled for. We pay for our Internet. We should be able to go on whatever site we wish as long as it isn’t necessarily against the law. (And if we are old enough – pertaining to the parts of the image messaging site that were banned.) I also don’t think the Internet provider has much of a chance. It wasn’t smart messing with Anonymous.

They don’t forgive.

They don’t forget.

AT&T,

Expect them.

You brought it on yourselves.

CJ signing out. I’ll try and keep everyone else updated on what happens with AT&T vs. Anon, but I’m sure other places have more information than me out there. I just mostly have my opinion.
